The front page (cover) of the newspaper La Libre Belgique from July 21, 1942 during the Second World War, celebrating the Belgian national day, with messages from Kings Albert and Leopold. The next day, July 22, the German and Flemish SS organized the first roundups of Jews in Brussels and Antwerp. From 1940 to 1944, La Libre Belgique was published clandestinely. This copy ironically located its head office (editorial and administration) at the Oberfeldkommandantur in Brussels, with as manager... Peter Pan! Belgian flag, resistance to German occupation.
